Church Insurance & School Insurance with GuideOne Insurance, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tenn

Assisting ministries with developing, perserving and restoring trust, with excellence.

Phelps Financial Services, Inc, we give value to the word "security" in a day when most only take the time to offer price. It was said in the 1800's and true I believe today, "most know the price of everything but rarely value." Our value is the offered assurance that we complete a quality in depth study of your ministry to properly match your risks and potential disasters with a contract of insurance benefits that meet your specific needs. Our clients tell us this value provides then the peace of mind necessary today for them to do the ministry they feel God has for them without compromise.

Our approach to your risk needs: We assist you with written "safegurads", procedures, understanding concepts and terms as we work with you to develop the proper match of insurance benefits with your ministry risks. I believe you will find this to be unique today, as our growing number of clients have shared with our agency. They feel this provides them the security and peace of mind necessary for their church ministry, their staff, volunteers, and attendees as they see others struggling with today's litigious culture. The information presented below is therefore of a general nature and may not be necessarily correct for your risk factors since things very from church ministry to church ministry and from state to state. This presentation should however, give you a general idea of the scope of possible offerings. Some specific risks you may have may necessitate other possible elements which we offer for insurance and coverage not presented below. Sadly to often we see church ministries approach this critical area of ministry as they would the purchase of commodities from their local store. They purchase a policy often not knowing what it covers but assume it is insurance, the wonderful stuff that cares for every pain they may be presented with in their ministry. The results is far to often issues and claims not properly cared for and a ministry left to deal with things they could have avoided.

Insurance, is defined as, and is a contact you purchase to provide the possible needed funding for your specific risk and possible disasters. If the comprehensive study with you of your risk factors is over looked, it is difficult to understand what insurance benefits you need to purchase.

Today it is critical that probability and consequences for possible frequency and severity of risk factors must be balanced with possible financial and procedural prevention resources which fit the resources of the ministry.

Why CHOOSE GuideOne , THE COMPANY OF CHOICE FOR CHURCH INSURANCE TODAY?
GuideOne insurance understands the special challenges and necessary flexibility necessary for the risks of churches and church schools like yours face, from their long history of providing insurance coverage for churches; in fact, they were the first company to develop a comprehensive multi-peril policy, specifically for churches and their special risks, back in 1962. This experience has provided the development of a wide variety of policy endorsements and options, over the years, as different risks have developed in frequency and severity, as well as the development of some unique and never before thought of risks--a continual process of presentment from our culture. While some solutions include insurance with GuideOne it also means offering additional services, from employee and volunteer screening construction, employee benefits, risk management resources, and others. By getting to know you and your organization better, our agency is able to create an insurance program with GuideOne that is specific to your unique risks. For each client, then, there is a critical necessity for agent and church to develop a quality, interactive relationship to meet the demands of our rapidly changing culture and the new risk presentments of today's culture. By choosing GuideOne and the services or our agancy you will discover why their experience over the many years makes a difference when matched with the many year of experience and the education of our agency personal. An agency who cares to take the time to understand your specific risk needs as a church can help to position you with a dynamic and growing ministry. At Phelps Financial Services, Inc. we do not just work with several churches, as most agents, but with hundreds, with over 30 years of experience, continual education, and specialization for ministries.

For a definition of terms and procedures we believe are critical to understand for good communication and proper application. Our assistance is as near as your email or phone. We value the opportunity to serve with you* (Click here) for definitions or call us toll free 877-471-7997)

Insurance: Without the foundation of a quality comprehensive risk study which deals with each realized risk factor, your ministry is left positioned for a possible disaster in waiting, for your staff and those of your community of faith. Would you think it a wise choice to never take the time to timely check your auto brakes feeling justified with this decision because you have auto insurance? Healthy life choices as are checking your auto brakes, are the risk management safeguards you choose to put in place in your life to lesson the risk of the premature loss of your life or accident. Ministry insurance, is like life insurance which can not stop you from dying or getting sick, but can assist with the possible financial aftermath of your death or ill health. Insurance is thus a contract for a future delivery of funds based up the benefits you have chosen to include in your insurance contract with your agent's assistance to meet the realized risks of your ministry. The purchased contract is to off set possible future financial loss in your ministry when the chosen contracted benefits are realized as a claim to help you financially recover.

Conditions & Clauses available to enhance coverage*

Replacement Cost for Building and Personal Property or ACVReplacement cost coverage is the insured value of the property that is necessary to allow for its current replacement of like kind and quality. The ACV coverage is the insured value that is equal to the current value based on the purchased price when bought, depreciated to its present value, factoring in- use and current condition factors. AVC is usually used for its tax advantage by businesses; however, for the religious organization, this would not be an advantage. Usually the ACV provision is only used in the religious organization program when a property is not in good condition or is of little value to the organization.
Blanket provided coverage for Building and Personal Property The blanket provision allows the coverage to be written as an amount that is equal to the replacement cost or ACV plan chosen of all buildings and personal property a client owns. This is an added layer of protection that can override a possible short insured value on a specific building, should a claim happen. Any shortfall can be covered by added value from another building or personal property value that was included in the blanket covered properties. This does require each building and its personal property to remain insured to value (replacement or ACV); it gives a premium benefit, but as things progress, this may develop a shortfall unknowingly, which would thus be covered by the blanket.
Agreed value clause

This provision waves the possible co-insurance penalty if the provided coverage was insufficent to meet co-insurance requirements. Accordingly, the insurance company will give discounts if the building is properly insured to value, either ACV or replacement cost, whichever is the chosen policy plan.

When property is not insured to value; where replacement cost requires an amount equal to the replacement value at the time of a loss, or ACV requires an amount equal to the current market value of the property. If the insured value does not meet this requirement, a co-insurance penalty is left against the claim so that a client could only collect in relation to the insured value. In simple terms, a $100,000 building insured for only $50,000 would only allow a claim to pay 50% of the claim. Thus, a $10,000 claim could only yield $5,000.

* This is not a policy but a brief outline of possible coverage that you might obtain with your policy. Due to applicable state laws, certain coverages may not be available in your state. Please see your specific policy for exact details on coverage limitations and benefits. Policies are designed to meet the specific risks of each client; your needs may differ from another.
